You can login to your Dictionary.com/Thesaurus.com account, via our Sign In page.
Sign In to your Dictionary.com account:
Sign into Dictionary.com/Thesaurus.com websites:
- Visit Dictionary.com or Thesaurus.com.
- Tap on the Account icon, located in the top-right corner of the page. You’ll be taken to the Sign Up page.
- Tap on the 'Already a member? Sign in' link.
- Enter the email address associated with your account, in the 'Your Email' field.
- Enter the password associated with your account, in the 'Password' field.
- Tap the 'Sign In' button. You should then be logged into your account.
Sign into the Dictionary.com Apps:
If you are instead in our iOS or Android apps version 10.0.0 or later, you can sign in via the "Login" button found on the app's homescreen. OR follow these steps:
- Tap the app's menu icon (three horizontal bars in the top, left corner)
- Tap "Sign up/Sign in" button located at the bottom of the menu
- You can then create an account, or toggle to "sign in" to login to an existing Dictionary.com account. (Dictionary.com accounts are not associated with app purchases - see *Notes section below for details)
Sign out of your Dictionary.com account:

- From Dictionary.com or Thesaurus.com websites, tap on the Account icon, located in the top-right corner of the page.
- This will open the account access menu. From there, tap 'Sign Out'.
- You'll be logged out of your account.
If you are on your account page, you can simply tap 'Sign Out' from the side menu.
Sign out of Dictionary.com Apps:
If you are in the iOS or Android apps (version 10.0.0 or later): tap the app's menu. Then tap "sign out.
*Notes:
- This is an account system, launched on Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com websites in August 2020. If you had an old account, years ago, you won't be able to log into this new account system using your old login information. Instead, please create a new account, here: Dictionary.com Account Sign-Up page! Instructions available here: How Do I Create An Account?.
- Accounts were added to the Dictionary.com mobile apps (iOS and Android only, not the iPad apps), in April 2022.
- Our iOS and Android mobile apps did not have logins for a Dictionary accounts until April 2022- in the version 10.0.0 release (and later versions)
- No Dictionary.com accounts existed in the apps prior to this time and you did not use an account in the app itself
- All purchases in the mobile apps take place in the App or Play Store, and you'll need to use your App or Play Store logins, not your Dictionary.com logins.
- Your Dictionary.com account is different than the account you use to log in to our Help Center. Logging into the Dictionary.com account will not log you into the Help Center, and vice versa. These have unique logins and will require you to login, separately.
- If you choose to create a Dictionary.com account in our apps, after the 10.0.0 release:
- do note that this will still not be associated with any purchases. Those will continue to only be linked to your app/play store account under-which you purchased them.
- these dictionary.com accounts will allow you to manage your word lists across devices
- Our separate, stand-alone iPad apps do not have accounts.
- Our iOS and Android mobile apps did not have logins for a Dictionary accounts until April 2022- in the version 10.0.0 release (and later versions)
