We know how frustrating it can be to forget a password. Not to worry! You can follow these steps to reset your password, and get logged back into your Dictionary.com/Thesaurus.com User Account.
If you’ve forgotten your password, you can send yourself a “Forgot Password?” email via the sign in page.
Forgot You Password and Can’t Login?
- Visit the Dictionary.com sign in page
- Tap the “Forgot Password?” link, located above the password field
- On the “Reset Password” page, enter the email address associated with your Dictionary.com account
- Tap “Get Recovery Link” button
- If an account exists under the email address you entered, our system will send you a reset password email, where you can follow the prompts to reset your account password.
- If no account exists, no email will be sent.
- The password reset link expires after one hour, so please check your inbox immediately to ensure you are able to reset the password via the link.
- If your password reset link expired before you were able to use it, please follow the above steps to send a new password reset email.
- Once your password has been successfully reset, you’ll be prompted to login using the new password.
Already logged in, but need to change your password?
If you need to change your password, while already logged in to your Dictionary.com account, you can do so via your account management settings.
To change your password, while logged in, follow these steps:
- Login to your Dictionary.com account
- Tap on the Account icon, in the upper right-hand corner
- From the menu, tap on “Account”
- From the account page, locate your “Current Password” and tap “Update”
- On the “Change Your Current Password” page: Enter your current Dictionary.com account password, then enter your new Dictionary.com password, in the “New Password” field.
- Tap the “Update Password” button
Your password will now be updated! Keep an eye out for an email from Dictionary.com confirming your change.
Password reset email didn't arrive?
- We can only send password reset emails to email addresses which have a Dictionary.com account associated with them. If an account doesn't exist, or there's a typo on your email address, you won't receive an email.
- If you entered your email address incorrectly into the field, do try again and send yourself a new reset password email.

- Please ensure you have email inbox settings to be able to receive emails from noreply@dictionary.com, and not have them sent to your spam or junk folders.

- In-App Purchases: All purchases of our Premium apps, or In-App Purchases/Upgrades in our Free apps take place solely within the App or Play Store. To manage your in-app purchases, you'll need to use your App or Play Store logins, not your Dictionary.com account logins.
- Account System Note: This is a new account system, launched August 2020. If you had an account, years ago, you won't be able to log into this new account system using your old login information. - Password Requirements: You are required to use at least 8 characters. Include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a special character.
